Building/Civil Contractor - Contract, Job Ref C133 Location: North West England Salary: All-In Day Rate, expected duration of 6 months Plus
Refer Jobsite advertisement. This position is for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can work on their own initiative. The position will be to represent the Main Contractor on a large building/civils project working on the mechanical side of a large predominantly civils project.
You will be required to:-
Form required area of interim valuations to be incorporated within overall valuation submissions to the client progressing to final account status.
Pursue and control contract variations in a structured fashion with the Project Manager and site team.
Work closely with the Managing QS in issuing contractual notifications to allow submission of claims within contractual timescales.
Report financial/contractual position of responsible area internally on a rolling basis to the Managing QS.
Have sufficient experience to represent the Contractor in front of the client.
Have sufficient experience to commercially manage subcontractors and settle any contentious final accounts.
Issue of timeous and fully detailed Payment and Withholding Notices for subcontractors where appropriate.
The Successful Applicant
For consideration you will be required to:-
Have a minimum 8 years experience of Quantity Surveying with majority of this time working for a contractor.
Good communication skills.
Hold a university or college qualification.
At least 2 years background working on NEC contracts.
Be IT, Microsoft Excel and Word competent.
Understand the importance of Health and Safety.
Recognise and communicate potential project issues to management.
Have Excellent Team Working.
Be able to show initiative and work to tight timescales.
