Salary: Attractive All-In Day Rate, expected duration of 1 year
Refer Jobsite advertisement. This position is for an experienced Managing QS or Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience of being in charge of a number of QSs. The position will be to represent the Main Contractor on a large building/civils project.
Description
You will be required to manage a team of Quantity Surveyors with the following duties but not limited to:-
- Submission of timeous interim valuations to the client and progression towards the final account.
- Pursue and control contract variations in a structured fashion with the Project Manager and site team.
- Work closely with the Project Manager in issuing contractual notifications to allow submission of claims within contractual timescales.
- Report financial/contractual position internally on a rolling basis.
- Have sufficient experience to represent the Contractor in front of the client.
- Have sufficient experience to be able to commercially manage subcontractors and settle their contentious final accounts.
- Manage and issue of timeous and fully detailed Payment and Withholding notices for subcontractors where appropriate.
The Successful Applicant
For consideration you will be required to:-
- Have a minimum 2 years experience at Managing QS level or 6 yrs at Senior QS level with majority of this time working for a contractor.
- Good management and communication skills.
- Hold a university or college qualification.
- At least 2 years background working on NEC contracts.
- Be IT, Microsoft Excel and Word competent.
- Understand the importance of Health and Safety.
- Recognise and communicate potential project issues to management.
- Team Working.
- Be able to show initiative and work to tight timescales.
