Roofing/Cladding Contractor - Permanant, Job Ref P128 Location: Central Belt Salary: £36k - £42k plus car and pension.
Refer Jobsite advertisement. This position is for an Estimator/QS with experience in Roofing/Cladding works. The successful candidate shall price tenders from concept stage and carry through the QS delivery function to Final Account Status. The position will be with a modern design, supply and erection contractor specialising in Roofing and Cladding works with an annual turnover of circa £10M. The company is expanding, places great emphasis on employees, quality assurance, environmental issues, health and safety and is part of a large construction organisation based in the central belt of Scotland.
You will be required to undertake the Estimating and Quantity Surveying duties on projects including but not limited to:-
Pricing tenders from concept/tender stage.
Understanding all temporary/permanent works involved.
Understanding programme logic.
Liaising with the front end team.
Prepare and submit interim valuations and final account with the client including liaison with the Project Manager and Site team.
Pursue timeous payment from the client and update cash flow forecasts.
Pursue contract variations in a structured and contractually timeous fashion with the Project Manager and site team.
Involvement in the appointment of subcontractors.
Issue of timeous and fully detailed Payment and Withholding notices to subcontractors where appropriate.
Preparation and presentation of monthly profit/loss reports.
Have sufficient experience to represent the contractor in front of the client.
The Successful Applicant
For consideration you will be required to have:-
Estimating and QS experience, a minimum of 7 years – taking projects from concept/tender stage through delivery to final account.
Specific experience in Roofing/Cladding works.
Hold a university or college qualification.
Be IT, Microsoft Excel and Word competent.
Understand the importance of Health and Safety.
Recognise and communicate potential project issues to management.
Good team working ethos.
Good communication skills.
Be able to show initiative and work to tight timescales.
